Meet Captain Steven Lee
For Captain Steven Lee boating has always been more than a pastime — it’s a lifelong passion. Growing up on his Great Grandfather’s pontoon boat, he developed not only a love for the water but also a deep respect for seamanship. This passion eventually led him to earn a 25 Ton Master Merchant Mariner Credential, and today it fuels his work as the owner and captain of Yachterlee.
Captain Steven Lee’s calm and knowledgeable style ensures that guests feel both at ease and fully immersed in the experience. When he’s not at the helm, he enjoys traveling, softball, and bowling — but his heart is always drawn back to the water.
Through Yachterlee, he combines professionalism with personal passion to create unforgettable moments on Detroit’s most iconic waterway.
Our Vessel, The Fountain
The Fountain is named after Captain Steven Lee's great grandfather. She is a Sea Ray 320 Sundancer that's nearly 36-feet long with a 12-foot beam which offers a comfortable ride.
The Fountain was converted from a privately operated pleasure craft into a commercial charter vessel. She now meets all applicable safety and operational requirements through inspection and approval by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources. She is officially a licensed charter vessel for operations on Michigan waterways.
